Modern Farmer
Project Manager, Sponsored Content — April 2017-April 2018

As the Project Manager of Modern Farmer's first sponsored digital content partnership, I served as the main liaison between L’Oréal executives and Modern Farmer. Duties included managing an editorial content calendar, establishing and enforcing editorial production deadlines, assigning stories to freelance writers producing photo shoots. I also assisted Modern Farmer's Editor-in-Chief and Digital Director in repurposing existing content, making photo selections, and copyediting articles. I build all articles in WordPress and handle social media promotion.

Associate Digital Editor — December 2016-April 2018

As the principal driver of Modern Farmer's social media presence, I wrote daily content for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I also coordinated, planned, scheduled, and executed weekly Instagram takeovers by farmers, influencers, and nonprofits. Other duties included creating social content (graphics, videos) to promote stories and audience surveys, monitoring analytics to identify and implement strategies to encourage optimal engagement and growth, copyediting daily online articles in WordPress, pitching news stories to our Digital Director, optimizing print stories (headlines, photos, formatting) for the web and social media, assisting in maintaining editorial content calendar, and collaborating with other teams (print, marketing, and sales) to develop and execute social media campaigns.

I write and edit social content and provide social media strategy consulting for The Mixing Bowl, a startup applying the insight of technology and communications to developing issues in food and agriculture. Additional duties include copyediting, formatting, and publishing The Mixing Bowl articles/interviews on Forbes.com; as well as publishing events and articles to The Mixing Bowl’s website.

Civil Eats

Social Media Editor — May 2015-December 2016

As Civil Eats' first Social Media Editor, I continued to work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor to build upon the social media strategy I helped develop as the publication's first Social Media Intern. To that end, I wrote and scheduled daily content for social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and designed graphics to promote the site's stories and subscription model for use on social platforms and in the publication's weekly newsletter. Additional duties included managing social media ads, identifying growth opportunities and new social sharing partnerships, monitoring analytics and implementing social media strategies to encourage optimal engagement, copyediting articles and the weekly newsletter, and writing weekly roundups of food and agriculture news and occasional interviews/articles. During my time at Civil Eats, I grew the brand's Twitter following by 157%, Facebook following by 212%, and Instagram following by 6878%.
